Head Shots of Dana
FIrst off, I want to apologize that it's been so long since I have put up my last post. I have been so busy these days with shoots, weddings, editing, album designs and such. I have been so excited about my recent portrait sessions that I'd like to share some of the photos with you all.
I have been doing weddings... A LOT of weddings and as much as I love weddings, I wanted to start focusing another important aspect of life...the beauty of women. Women are such beautiful creatures, are they not!!?? No matter who she is, where she comes from, how old she is, what size she is, or how she looks on the outside, I have come to learn a lot about women. Since I get to work hand-in-hand with so many women, there is a common theme in them all - sadly it's not a very a positive one. This "revelation" will come to no surprise to you, especially if you are a woman. Just about at every shoot, no matter who the woman is, I get the same requests over and over again... "make me look better", "get the good side of me", "don't shoot from that angel, it'll make me look fat", "don't get too close up to my face", "avoid my big ugly butt", "I hate my nose", "my tummy is so fat", "does my hair look good?", "am I wearing enough make-up?" and so on and so on and so on. The list is endless. No matter how beautiful a woman is, when I am taking her picture she doesn't see her beauty. The tiniest of women think they are so fat. The most vulouptous women think they are not attractive or not attractive enough. To my shame, I can't say I am any different from these women. So, what is it that makes us so critical of ourselves? Why do we beat ourselves up so much? Out of all the questions I'd like answers to, the most important question for me now is this....
How can I help these women to see how beautiful they are?
To see even within myself, how beautiful I am too. Being vibrantly georgous and sexy comes so much more than from the physical appearances we carry on the outside. True, it helps if you're a size 2 and have almost perfectly flawless skin, but come on, beauty alone doesn't just come within a number or how smooth your skin is. Beauty comes from "who" you are. "What" you are. And "How" you are.
So, it is my new mission to "show" the women in the world how beautiful they truly are! Here's what I am going to do and if by any chance you can help me by participating in my new mission, please do not shy away from contacting me. I am starting a new photo series of capturing women in a boudoir session. Boudoir means "A woman's private sitting room, dressing room, or bedroom." These three rooms described in a woman's home are secure, special, private, and intimate. A woman undresses in her bedroom or closet. She lets it all go, strips the outer shell to reveal what is beneath all the coverings. She is beauty. She is vulnerable. She is sexy. She is captivating. She is... woman.
Men marvel at the beauty of a woman, they thirst, hunger, and even starve for the affection and beauty of a woman. There are more paintings, photos, magazines and movies geared towards showing the woman's body more so then there are of men. No other creature alive on earth is as mysterious, erotic, vibrant, sensual and breath taking as women are.
So, ladies, as I am assuming most of my readers are women, please come with me as I embark upon the true beauty of woman. I am starting a series of boudoir photo sessions from now till I have enough photos to show the world (ok, not all of the world, just part of it), just how incredible a woman is. I need your help - so as my thanks for participating in this new mission of mine, I am going to offer my normal boudoir packages at HALF OFF. To extend my extra gratitude even further, I am also going to include a FREE dvd of all your photos for you to keep!
Think about this, you can have beautiful photos of you that you will transform the way you look at yourself. I really want YOU to see YOU for who you really are... and that is beauty. And if you're married, what a great way to spice things up between you and your husband by showing him his beautiful wife in print. Heck, even if you're not married now, you can still have photos taken of you, then show them to your future husband-to-be as a gift or surprise. Bottom line, married or not, having photos taken of you is not just a gift to him, but a gift to you as well. Getting the chance to see how captivating you truly are, is a gift in it of itself!!
If you are interested in learning more about my mission, please contact me right away at darice@daricemichelle.com or contact me through my website at Darice Michelle Photography .
Please stayed tuned. I will be posting some photos taken at my boudoir sessions. In the meantime, here are some head shots of Dana. She was my first participant in a boudoir session. I will show you some of her boudoir shots within a week. If you are itching to see at least one or two from her bourdoir session, then scroll down to scratch that itch (smiles).
Please know, that although Dana is so georgous I will be posting photos of women that aren't so "perfect" because I really want you all to see that ALL women are beautiful.
By the way, as beautiful as Dana is, she had several criticims of herself! You see, no matter how "perfect" a woman is, she will always see the "imperfect" way before she sees the "perfect". Sadly, most women may never see the "perfect" in them. But I am hoping to change that. So, please par-take in this great adventure of mine and YOURS.
Just a few boudoir photos to see...

WPPI In Las Vegas
Just last month WPPI held their annual photographers convention and trade show in Las Vegas. For those of you that are not familiar with WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographer International), it is the largest organization and resource avenue for photographers from all over the world! The WPPI convention in Las Vegas is the largest and most publicized event there is in the photography industry.
Regretfully, I could not attend; however, my work was! Collages.net used one of my portrait images to display at their booth. It was one of the largest images they displayed. They were so overjoyed as my photograph brought a lot of photographers and non-photographers to their booth!
The photo with the boy in curlers is my photograph. Isn't it just precious! Yeah yeah, I know what you all are thinking. You're thinking that when he's older he won't think it's so precious when he realizes he was wearing curlers. What can I say, he literally BEGGED me to put them in his hair! So, I am totally innocent in this all!! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Girls Night Out
Every once in a while there comes a time when you just have to get out of this crazy busy life and just go, let loose and have fun! Heather, my awesome assistant and dear good friend and I went out to "dance" only every club we hit sadly we couldn't the good dj's with the good music. They were all probably off doing weddings instead! Go figure!!
Nonetheless, Heather, Allison (another good friend), and I went off into the night to take in some of the pleasures life has to offer us; loud music, girls flirting with boys and boys flirting with girls, being intertwined in cigarette smoke, avoiding a fight when a women decides to make out with a single guy only for him to find out she's married and her husband who is just feet away angerily tries to take a swing at the guy only to fail when the bouncers drag his drunk behind out of the club. Ok ok, so who said a girls night out has to be boring! I would have photographed all the drama but I only had my canon point in shoot camera with me. You know how those point and shoot cameras are... you can't take a photo when you need it to! Can't focus for anything and gives everyone the devil eyes when it does decide to allow you to capture a moment. I think that by the time you get the crazy thing to take a shot it's rather fitting for us to have devilish eyes. I mean we're pretty fed up from all the delays and camera malfunctions. I have been shooting with my professional gear for quite some time and never had a little camera thingy before, so I was shocked at how horrible these "camera" things are! I mean, how are we to capture life's pleasures and craziness with these point and shoot things! More like, I dare you to point that thing at me cause I'm ready to shoot you as I stand here tired of waiting for you to take the shot!! Ha ha.
Sorry I don't have all the drama photos to show you!!!
Maybe next time I'll bring the REAL THING and maybe then I won't disappoint you all!
This is the poor guy who fell victim to a woman who he thought was single. Geez, what does a good guy have to do to find a good decent woman these days!
So here is Allison trying to talk to the guys friend who almost got into that fight. I think they both are dealing with their shock that the married woman tried to pick up another guy with her husband there. There or not, heck that's crazy, I thought all the "different" kinds of folks came from Hollywood, not good old Jacksonville (lol)!!

Home Sweet Home Engagement Photos
Ryan and Laura are such cool people! They both live in New York (which is one reason why they are already cool!) and are getting married here in Jacksonville. Upon a weekend visit to catch up on all their wedding plans, we squeezed in an engagement session using Ryan's parents house. I always love doing photos in the home. It's so personal, cozy, and relaxing. What made it all the more fun was the fact that both Ryan and Laura were so easy going. Well it was pretty much easy going until we were in the bedroom doing some bed scene photos with both Ryan's and Laura's mother's cheering them on (ha ha). It was rather hysterical and quite cute.
I had the privledge of meeting almost the whole family. I felt so comfortable with them all, that I already feel like part of the family. I can't wait to see everyone again on the wedding day!
