Bowl of America

My in-laws are in town...which means VACATION time for not only them but me too! One of the nice benefits to having visitors is that they make you stop, slow down, and take time for the more fun things in life like - BOWLING! I am not a bowler, but every time I bowl, I always want to play another game. It's fun making that ball swoop down the lane as fast as you can make it go!

So here is something really funny, when we were on our way there Jan, Noel's mother, was talking about how much time has changed things in the way we live and the kind of things we have nowadays. So after walking down memory lane for when our phones were attached to the walls with long cords and the big walkmans verses the tiny i-pods out there, something hilarious happened when we were bowling.

As we sat in Lane 16, the first thing that came out of Jan's mouth was her shock and confusion at the above computer screens tracking the players scores! She asked me in total surprise, "So, we don't write down our on scores? This computer does that for us?" Talk about time going by! I didn't say anything because I didn't know if she was for real at first. Then it occurred to me that it had been THAT long since she last bowled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were laughing so hard at this!

Forgive me for the poor quality of photos, I had to use my point-n-shoot this time! I know, someone slap me over the head.

Happy Birthday Jaden!

Jaden turned 5 today. We just had a special breakfast this morning while Jaden opened his presents from our family in Chicago. Watching him opening the presents was so touching. His excitement and happiness made us all filled with joy and laughter. Tomorrow night we will be celebrating his birthday with all his friends at Pump It Up a place where kids can go wild and crazy!

Auntie Marissa's Gift

Jaden has been wanting this pirate book for a long time! Book comes with maps, secrets notes and more! He was screaming with so much joy that he now has it! Good job Auntie Marissa.

Grandma and grandpa Myers did good when they got him hot wheels shoes that light up, Jaden's favorite part of the shoes!

Auntie Sara and Uncle Eric always get cool gifts for Jaden. Jaden can't wait to put this pirates ship together!

Watching Jaden try to open this present was just hilarious! I think he was quite eager to find out what it was, don't you say!

Another gift Jaden has been wanting so badly, Spiderman 3! Thank you Grandma and grandpa Myers for making Jaden's day! Jaden LOVES LOVES spiderman, can't blame the little guy - spiderman is pretty cool!

Happy Birthday Jaden! Tomorrow morning we will have another special breakfast and more fun presents to come!!

Night Out With Friends

Katia, Lena and Darice

Tonight my girlfriends and I went out to Bonefish...well actually we only made it into the lobby - never sat down! Due how pact it was there was a 90-minute table wait which didn't sit well with my hungry friend, so we ventured off into the Bartram Walk Plaza in Fruit Cove and dined at the fairly new Herilooms Restaurant.

Our main topic for the night was RAW FOODS - geez is that a surprise! I think I should get into doing some lectures on raw foods and our health - so many people are more interested in their health now then we ever were before. Some day I hope to focus more of my time in helping others to achieve their human potential - physically as well as emotionally. There are just so many wonderful health benefits to eating raw foods (and no this does mean eating raw meats! Just fruits, vegetables and nuts) that I think people are starting to take notice...and that's always a good thing!

As we got up close and personal about our bodies, I think our waiter came to our table a little too frequently wondering why we were laughing so much and what exactly we were really talking about. He was as sweet as can be but I'm sure he went back to the kitchen telling everyone how we were talking about ..... HA, you didn't actually think I was going to tell you our detailed personal conversation did you!!!

My raw salad -

Lena's dish (don't know exactly what it all was other than crab cakes, french fries and something else)

Katia's dish was all wrong - this isn't actually what she ate, but she was tired of me taking photos so when the real dish came out I spared her the wait!

Don't we just look so tired!

Instead of going out after dinner, we called it a night. All of us were so exhausted from our day. Ever just have those days where all you want to do is just plop down on the couch and do NOTHING! Well, that was my day today...resting on the couch and doing nothing. Auhhh, that felt so good. I suppose I needed the rest just in time for my busy crazy day tomorrow. Family is coming to visit...again...we have had so many visitors lately I feel like a hotel...and there is so much to do to prepare.

Ok, now that I have just rambled off on my boring day today, I hope you all feel better connected with me (ha ha).

See you soon!

Blake Lewis - Surrender Music Video

Ok, how many of you at one point in your childhood or even adulthood (yeah, I know you still sing and dance!) pretended to be a great singer! I came across this video and I just love it. It's hilarious watching this guy sing Surrender...he really gets into it!

This video reminds me of when I was in the 6th grade and did a Madonna video hosted by MTV at the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL. The video was just me lip sinking to Madonna's "Lucky Star" song with crazy changing backgrounds. I was in a big cage with so many shoppers watching me as I bravely tried to perform! I still have the video! If I could post it I would, you all would die laughing!

Casa Monica Hotel

Just recently we became one of the Casa Monica's Hotel preferred photographers! Thanks to Engaging Concepts for promoting our work at this fantastic hotel! What fun!

Some of our work can be found on their website or blog

If you have not had the pleasure to visit this extravagantly breath taking hotel, shame on you! The Casa Monica Hotel is one of my favorite hotels in Northern Florida. I will never forget my first impression of this hotel when my husband and I walked along the side walk leading up to it. My heart pounded as I took in the metal balconies, tall tower structure, and hand carved architecture made me feel like I had stepped into Italy for a mere second. Ok, I confess, I have never been to Italy (my heritage) since I was born in the US, BUT and I say BUT with all caps because I have always felt more European than American. How weird is that I feel like Italy is more my home than America and yet have stepped foot on her land! I know weird! Ok, now that I have gotten that out of my system, let me bring you back to the spectacular Casa Monica Hotel!

Look at some of the fun things they offer -

Jaden Found His Future Wife

For about 6 months now Jaden is always talking about his "love"...Claire. One late night when I was done working and before I headed off to bed I snuck my way into the kids room to give them one last good night kiss. To my surprise, Jaden was sitting up in bed with his flashlight in hand writing Claire a "love letter"! Of course the only thing on the paper was a bunch of squiggleys! Now how could I get mad at something like that!

Just a few months back Jaden proposed to Claire at school on the playground. She told him that she was going to marry another boy then when she was done with him, she'd marry Jaden. Jaden's eyes lifted in shock and said, "Oh no Claire. You can't marry two people. You can only be married to one person and that is the person you stay with for the rest of your life." Wow! My 4-year (almost 5) old has got down the marriage commitment pretty darn good! Oh, he's so young and head over heels in love with Claire - it's so touching to see his little heart fall in love.

Golly, I didn't fall in love until I was 14 years old! This kid is sure ahead of the game. I know I know, either he is going to be a heart breaker or a heart broken mush ball when he hits puberty.

Claire is over right now playing with Jaden. I couldn't help but grab my Canon camera to forever freeze this young love! Wouldn't it be a blast if these two adorable kids got married? I could just see it now, I'll be using these photos in their slideshow at the reception!

Enjoy!
